Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mensaje by Mathias Goeritz was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 317,000.00 (€ 284,687.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Mathias Goeritz have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2015 the work Mensaje was auctioned for USD 466,000.00 (€ 441,204.32).
