Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2015 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings Part I, which included the work The Martyrdom Of Saint Bartholomew by Matthias Stomer. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 665,000.00 (€ 589,016.83). Admittedly, works by Matthias Stomer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ Disputing With The Doctors in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 2,650,000.00 (€ 2,446,454.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2015 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Martyrdom Of Saint Bartholomew von Matthias Stomer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 665.000,00 (€ 589.016,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthias Stomer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Christ Disputing With The Doctors im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.650.000,00 (€ 2.446.454,95).
