Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work A Summer Day in the Hills Above San Diego 20 x 24 in. framed 26 x 30 in. by Maurice Braun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,100.00 (€ 4,767.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Braun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eucalyptus Trees in the Mist in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 127,000.00 (€ 149,658.26).
