Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Art of Travel and Exploration, which included the work Dutch a Javanese Village With A Volcano Beyond, Thought To Be Mount Semeru by Maurits van den Kerkhoff. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,533.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Maurits van den Kerkhoff have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2010 the work View of a kampong with possibly the Smeroe in the background was auctioned for EUR 22,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Art of Travel and Exploration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch a Javanese Village With A Volcano Beyond, Thought To Be Mount Semeru von Maurits van den Kerkhoff zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.533,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Maurits van den Kerkhoff konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2010 die Arbeit View of a kampong with possibly the Smeroe in the background für EUR 22.500,00 versteigert.
