Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2000 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Cows in a Field, Isle of Wight by Max Hofler. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 704.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Max Hofler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hyde Park Corner, London in September 2012 with an auction result of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,823.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cows in a Field, Isle of Wight von Max Hofler zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 704,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Max Hofler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hyde Park Corner, London im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.823,35).
