This artwork by Maxwell Ashby Armfield achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2006. In the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction, the work The Window Seat, An Evening At Home (Portrait of The Artist'S Wife) sold for GBP 19,200.00 (€ 27,782.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Maxwell Ashby Armfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madison Square Park, New York in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 151,362.87).

In der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures wurde die Arbeit The Window Seat, An Evening At Home (Portrait of The Artist'S Wife) für GBP 19.200,00 (€ 27.782,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maxwell Ashby Armfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madison Square Park, New York im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 151.362,87).
