Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Spinning Yarn) by Meera Mukherjee was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,035.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Meera Mukherjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Mango Orchard) in March last year with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 204,453.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Spinning Yarn) von Meera Mukherjee wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.035,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Meera Mukherjee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Mango Orchard) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 204.453,26).
