This artwork by Meera Mukherjee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Mumbai in December 2013. In the South Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 44,088.83) - well above the upper estimate of INR 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Meera Mukherjee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Mango Orchard) in March last year with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 204,453.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Meera Mukherjee erzielte im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in Mumbai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für INR 3.750.000,00 (€ 44.088,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von INR 1.500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Meera Mukherjee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Mango Orchard) im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 204.453,26).
