This artwork by Mei Lanfang achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in November 2021. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Guan Yin、Heart Sutra sold for HKD 192,000.00 (€ 21,348.45) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mei Lanfang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amitayu, which sold at auction in April 2016 for HKD 687,500.00 (€ 77,457.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mei Lanfang erzielte im November 2021 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Guan Yin、Heart Sutra für HKD 192.000,00 (€ 21.348,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mei Lanfang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Amitayu beobachtet, die im April 2016 für HKD 687.500,00 (€ 77.457,17) versteigert wurde.
