Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work A sculpted gold cup, a silver-gilt cup and cover, a shell and bluebells on a partially draped stone ledge; A silver sewing box, an ewer and a pomegranate on a partially draped stone ledge by Meiffren Conte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,200.00 (€ 25,265.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate.
