Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape by Mi Wanzhong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 160,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 111,625.00 (€ 16,863.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mi Wanzhong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape, which sold at auction in November 2005 for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 65,648.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape von Mi Wanzhong im Oktober 2000 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 160.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 111.625,00 (€ 16.863,45) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mi Wanzhong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape beobachtet, die im November 2005 für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 65.648,85) versteigert wurde.
