Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Circe Transforming Men Into Beasts by Michiel Carrée was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,346.00 (€ 3,006.15). Other works by Michiel Carrée have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2011 by the work A wooded landscape with a drover and her cattle at rest by classical ruins; and A wooded river landscape with a drover and his cattle watering at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,451.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Circe Transforming Men Into Beasts von Michiel Carrée im April 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.346,00 (€ 3.006,15) den Besitzer.
