Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Crowning Of Thorns, From: Stephan Fridolin'S 'Schatzbehalter' by Michael Wolgemut was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 875.00 (€ 984.68). Other works by Michael Wolgemut have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2021 by the work The Creation of Eve and The Fall of Man ('Die vierd Figur'), from: Schatzbehalter der wahren Reichtümer des Heils at GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,938.28).

Als die Arbeit The Crowning Of Thorns, From: Stephan Fridolin'S 'Schatzbehalter' von Michael Wolgemut im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 875,00 (€ 984,68) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Michael Wolgemut wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2021 die Arbeit The Creation of Eve and The Fall of Man ('Die vierd Figur'), from: Schatzbehalter der wahren Reichtümer des Heils mit GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.938,28).
