Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The topsail schooner Mary of Brixham entering the Mole of Naples, 1842 by Michele Funno was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,119.06). Other works by Michele Funno have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2006 by the work Zugeschrieben - Blankeneser Schoner "Johannes" vor Neapel mit Vesuv at EUR 2,975.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The topsail schooner Mary of Brixham entering the Mole of Naples, 1842 von Michele Funno im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.119,06) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Michele Funno wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2006 die Arbeit Zugeschrieben - Blankeneser Schoner "Johannes" vor Neapel mit Vesuv mit EUR 2.975,00.
