Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mildred Bendall could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work La Cafetière changed hands for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,296.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mildred Bendall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Trawler, which sold at auction in March 2015 for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,530.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Mildred Bendall konnte im Juli 2001 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit La Cafetière für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.296,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mildred Bendall mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Trawler beobachtet, die im März 2015 für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.530,21) versteigert wurde.
