Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Milton Avery could be acquired at Christies in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern American Art auction, the work Montauban changed hands for USD 277,200.00 (€ 242,265.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Milton Avery achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Letter in May last year with an auction result of USD 6,069,500.00 (€ 5,656,043.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Milton Avery konnte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Modern American Art wechselte die Arbeit Montauban für USD 277.200,00 (€ 242.265,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Milton Avery erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Letter im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.069.500,00 (€ 5.656.043,24).
