Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Min Wae Aung could be acquired at Bonhams in Hong Kong in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work Monks changed hands for HKD 28,050.00 (€ 3,330.14) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Min Wae Aung - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dusty Journey, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,242.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Min Wae Aung konnte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art wechselte die Arbeit Monks für HKD 28.050,00 (€ 3.330,14) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Min Wae Aung mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dusty Journey beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 93.750,00 (€ 10.242,61) versteigert wurde.
