Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Egyptian women and child with pestle and mortar by Mohammed Naghi was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 250.00 (€ 319.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mohammed Naghi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grilling Lamb in Cyprus in November this year with an auction result of GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,041.58).
