Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Blue Plums, 1979 by Nellie Mae Rowe for USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,389.66). This price was achieved in the auction Courageous Spirits: Outsider and Vernacular Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nellie Mae Rowe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,643.79).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nellie Mae Rowe erzielen.
