This artwork by Nellie Mae Rowe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in January this year. In the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction, the work Creation sold for USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,085.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nellie Mae Rowe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 sold at auction in January 2019 with the realized price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,643.79).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nellie Mae Rowe erzielte im Januar diesen Jahres bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art wurde die Arbeit Creation für USD 16.380,00 (€ 15.085,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nellie Mae Rowe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Orange Mule Prancing, 1980 im Januar 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 19.643,79).
