In April 2006 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Pictures, which included the work A Spaniel And A Cat Fighting, With Another Cat Looking On by Nicasius Bernaerts. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,329.85), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nicasius Bernaerts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lionne couchée in September 2020 with an auction result of EUR 37,500.00.
