In July 2014 a collector was able to acquire the work The Madonna and Child with a goldfinch by Niccolò di Pietro Gerini for GBP 146,500.00 (€ 184,782.56). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Niccolò di Pietro Gerini have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Scenes From The Passion Of Christ: Peter Protesting At Christ Washing The Feet Of The Disciples; The Betrayal Of Christ In The Garden Of Gethsemane (Or The Kiss Of Judas); The Mocking Of Christ; The Flagellation in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,250.00 (€ 1,363,080.20).
