Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Young Nobleman, Three-Quarter-Length, Wearing Red With A Brown Sash, Holding A Bow And A Quiver Of Arrows, With Two Dogs In A Wooded Landscape by Nicolaes Maes. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolaes Maes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Group portrait of a family in an Italianate garden with an ornate fountain in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 792,000.00 (€ 1,149,543.66).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Nobleman, Three-Quarter-Length, Wearing Red With A Brown Sash, Holding A Bow And A Quiver Of Arrows, With Two Dogs In A Wooded Landscape von Nicolaes Maes zur Versteigerung kam.
