Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Cool Mountain Stream by Nie Ou was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,694.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nie Ou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Raising Animals, which sold at auction in December 2015 for CNY 295,000.00 (€ 41,944.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Cool Mountain Stream von Nie Ou kam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.694,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Nie Ou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Raising Animals beobachtet, die im Dezember 2015 für CNY 295.000,00 (€ 41.944,93) versteigert wurde.
