Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Christies in London held the auction Vintage Posters and Olympic Icons, which included the work 1896 Commemorative Medal by Nikiforos Lytras. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,379.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nikiforos Lytras achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune fille au bain in November this year with an auction result of EUR 279,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Vintage Posters and Olympic Icons durch, in der auch die Arbeit 1896 Commemorative Medal von Nikiforos Lytras zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.379,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nikiforos Lytras erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jeune fille au bain im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 279.800,00.
