Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Near Callary by Norah McGuinness was sold in the THE IRISH SALE auction at Christies in London in May 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,656.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Norah McGuinness achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Harvesters in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 99,855.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Near Callary von Norah McGuinness wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion THE IRISH SALE bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.057,50 (€ 1.656,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Norah McGuinness erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Harvesters im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 78.500,00 (€ 99.855,43).
