This artwork by Ohara Koson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction, the work Taisho (1912-1926) Era, 1910S sold for USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,753.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Ohara Koson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,153.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ohara Koson erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono wurde die Arbeit Taisho (1912-1926) Era, 1910S für USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.753,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ohara Koson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hanging scroll, ink and colour on silk, of monkeys in a maple tree over a waterfall, signed Koson and sealed Koson im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.153,01).
