Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Venetian backwater by Oliver Rhys was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,405.00 (€ 7,829.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oliver Rhys - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Venetian Fruit Seller, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,166.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Venetian backwater von Oliver Rhys kam im März 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.405,00 (€ 7.829,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Oliver Rhys mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Venetian Fruit Seller beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.166,49) versteigert wurde.
