In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work A Venetian Fruit Seller by Oliver Rhys. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,166.49), 30% above the upper estimate. With this result, A Venetian Fruit Seller is even the most expensive work of art by Oliver Rhys that we have observed at auctions so far.
