Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel, which included the work The Fairies and the Frog by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,903.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work I Am Kexy, Friend To Fairies, which sold at auction in August 2004 for AUD 23,900.00 (€ 13,871.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Fairies and the Frog von Ida Rentoul Outhwaite zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 5.903,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ida Rentoul Outhwaite mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit I Am Kexy, Friend To Fairies beobachtet, die im August 2004 für AUD 23.900,00 (€ 13.871,53) versteigert wurde.
