Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mountain Landscape, 1928 by Pan Dawei was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 892.50 (€ 788.57). Admittedly, works by Pan Dawei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscapes in October this year with an auction result of HKD 36,000.00 (€ 4,353.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mountain Landscape, 1928 von Pan Dawei im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 892,50 (€ 788,57) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pan Dawei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscapes im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 36.000,00 (€ 4.353,52).
