Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a Spray of Snapdragons by Pancrace Bessa was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,661.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pancrace Bessa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Corbeille De Fruits Et Fleurs Sur Un Entablement De Pierre Sur Lequel Repose Une Tourterelle in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 43,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of a Spray of Snapdragons von Pancrace Bessa wurde im Januar 2021 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.661,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pancrace Bessa erzielen.
