Auction result well in line with expectations
The work By the watermill, Fresnay-sur-Sarthe by Paul Désiré Trouillebert was sold in the 19th Century & Modern Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2017. It changed hands for a price of EUR 7,500.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Désiré Trouillebert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le faucheur et un rameur sur la rivière. in October 2021 with an auction result of CHF 67,400.00 (€ 63,660.09).
