In May 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Peasants before a bridge in a snow covered landscape by Peter von Bemmel. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 881.25 (€ 1,477.44), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter von Bemmel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Zwei Landschaften: Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang in November last year with an auction result of EUR 10,080.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 47 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peasants before a bridge in a snow covered landscape von Peter von Bemmel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 881,25 (€ 1.477,44) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter von Bemmel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Zwei Landschaften: Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 10.080,00.
