In November 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fast Forward: New Directions in Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Phil Frost. The result of USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,893.58) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Phil Frost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thunderwhisper in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 87,370.63).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fast Forward: New Directions in Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Phil Frost zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.893,58) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Phil Frost erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thunderwhisper im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 87.370,63).
