Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,832.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-Athanase Chauvin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of The Pines Of The Villa Borghese From The Back Of The Villa Medicis, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 145,000.00 (€ 97,702.31).
