Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane | Le Christ au jardin de Gethsémani by Pierre Reymond was sold in the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I, Including Treasures from the Antony Embden Collection auction at Sothebys in Paris in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,820.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Reymond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A PARCEL-GILT GRISAILLE ENAMEL DIPTYCH OF THE SEVEN SORROWS OF THE VIRGIN AND THE DEATH OF THE VIRGIN in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 131,250.00 (€ 112,689.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane | Le Christ au jardin de Gethsémani von Pierre Reymond wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I, Including Treasures from the Antony Embden Collection bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 8.820,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Reymond erzielen.
