Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Noli Me Tangere by Pieter Thijs. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 34,850.00 (€ 36,602.64), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pieter Thijs - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dædalus fixing wings onto the shoulders of Icarus, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 123,557.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Noli Me Tangere von Pieter Thijs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 36.602,64) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Pieter Thijs mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dædalus fixing wings onto the shoulders of Icarus beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 97.250,00 (€ 123.557,22) versteigert wurde.
