Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Barbara; Saint Michael the Archangel by Peter van Lint was sold in the Master Paintings and Drawings Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,980.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter van Lint achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Apollon du Belvedère in May 2020 with an auction result of EUR 112,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Saint Barbara; Saint Michael the Archangel von Peter van Lint wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 9.980,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter van Lint erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Apollon du Belvedère im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 112.500,00.
