Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pietro Novelli could be acquired at Sothebys in Paris in June 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle auction, the work Christ On The Column changed hands for EUR 27,500.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pietro Novelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Christ À La Colonne, which sold at auction in June 2016 for EUR 65,000.00.
