Despite a disappointment, a good price for Pietro Torrini
When the work A Good Year by Pietro Torrini was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,792.50 (€ 1,324.05). Despite this disappointing result, A Good Year is the most expensive artwork by Pietro Torrini that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Pietro Torrini
Als die Arbeit A Good Year von Pietro Torrini im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.792,50 (€ 1.324,05) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist A Good Year das teuerste Kunstwerk von Pietro Torrini, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
