Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Virgin’s education by Giovanni Battista Pittoni was auctioned at Il Ponte in April 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 9,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Pittoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Achilles Among The Daughters Of Lycomedes in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 250,000.00 (€ 274,483.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Virgin’s education von Giovanni Battista Pittoni im April 2016 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 9.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 8.000,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Pittoni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Achilles Among The Daughters Of Lycomedes im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 250.000,00 (€ 274.483,38).
