Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Just Some Dudes by Purvis Young. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,665.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Purvis Young have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work People with Halos Above City, 1973 in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,439.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Just Some Dudes von Purvis Young zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.665,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Purvis Young auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit People with Halos Above City, 1973 im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.439,29).
