In May this year Bonhams held the auction Michael Goedhuis | Brush and Bronze, which included the work Self Portrait (Spirit), 1997 by Qiu Deshu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 48,180.00 (€ 56,057.75), 61% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Qiu Deshu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fissuring-Landscape (Dawn Light) in October 2014 with an auction result of CNY 2,190,000.00 (€ 285,940.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Michael Goedhuis | Brush and Bronze durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait (Spirit), 1997 von Qiu Deshu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 48.180,00 (€ 56.057,75) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Qiu Deshu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fissuring-Landscape (Dawn Light) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 2.190.000,00 (€ 285.940,94).
