Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Marynka Pregnant by R. B. Kitaj for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,710.94). This price was achieved in the auction Modern British Art Evening Sale at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by R. B. Kitaj achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Waiting in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 317,000.00 (€ 449,399.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Marynka Pregnant von R. B. Kitaj für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.710,94) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern British Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von R. B. Kitaj erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Waiting im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 317.000,00 (€ 449.399,53).
