This artwork by Raffael achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2009. In the Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours Evening Sale auction, the work Head of a muse sold for GBP 29,161,250.00 (€ 32,894,915.49) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 16,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Raffael; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Head Of A Young Apostle sold at auction in December 2012 with the realized price of GBP 29,721,250.00 (€ 36,654,555.40).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Raffael erzielte im Dezember 2009 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolours Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Head of a muse für GBP 29.161.250,00 (€ 32.894.915,49) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 16.000.000,00.
