Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies in New York held the auction Important Americana, which included the work Beachscape by Ralph Cahoon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,925.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ralph Cahoon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Luck of the Sailfish Club in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 73,857.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Americana durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beachscape von Ralph Cahoon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.925,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ralph Cahoon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Luck of the Sailfish Club im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 96.000,00 (€ 73.857,52).
