This work without title by Ram Kumar was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 88,200.00 (€ 90,156.39), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ram Kumar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vagabond in March 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,161,000.00 (€ 734,577.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Ram Kumar wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 88.200,00 (€ 90.156,39) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ram Kumar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vagabond im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.161.000,00 (€ 734.577,67).
