Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Living with Art, which included the work Bowery Nocturne by Raphael Soyer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,946.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Raphael Soyer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Passerby in December 2009 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 60,354.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Living with Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bowery Nocturne von Raphael Soyer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.946,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Raphael Soyer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Passerby im Dezember 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 60.354,45).
