Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Inside Job: Christie's Staff Art Show, which included the work Boom by Ray Hoomanawanui. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125.00 (€ 113.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ray Hoomanawanui - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spread Love, which sold at auction in August this year for USD 378.00 (€ 348.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Inside Job: Christie's Staff Art Show durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boom von Ray Hoomanawanui zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100,00 – 200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 125,00 (€ 113,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ray Hoomanawanui mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Spread Love beobachtet, die im August diesen Jahres für USD 378,00 (€ 348,74) versteigert wurde.
